Love figs!
Lisa Parlett says
It is nigh unto impossible to get fresh figs where I live, so have never tried one, so a whole case would be amazing! Since i have and love Rebecca’s cookbook, Not Your Mama’s Canning Book, I would definitely make the fig preserves, and eat a bunch fresh of course!

My Sister used to have a Fig tree in her backyard and we loved eating them right off the tree! I’d love to make some Fig Jam…it sounds wonderful!

Many years ago I had a friend give me a bunch of figs. Back then I didn’t know what to do with them and they went to waste. Now I would love to have a bunch of fresh figs!

As an adult, I’ve only been able to eat fresh figs when I am in Europe; but growing up, we had a fig tree in our yard in Central Texas, and when we got tired of eating them fresh, my grandmother would make fig preserves. The preserves were so good that we would grab spoons and eat them out of the jar whenever my parents would open a new one. Needless to say, a quart never lasted long in our house. Fortunately, the tree was so prolific, and my grandmother was ALWAYS canning them so we never were without the preserves. So I would probably simply can them and try to recreate those memories .

I’ve been wanting to make every gig-based recipe I come across on my favorite food blogs! Hope I win an entire case to experiment with. Besides vanilla fig preserves I’d go for some classic prosciutto wrapped stuffed figs and quite possibly a coconut crime pie topped with figs and maybe even a sweet and savory pizza pie which includes figs!! Drooling!

on toast or eating

I grew up with a fig tree so figs bring back special memories. We always ate them right off the tree. We can get fresh figs in the market during a very short season.
Wendy Fuller says
I’m new to figs, would love to try them and my daughter and I are beginner canners.
Glenda says
Definitely making the prosciutto wrapped chicken. Oh the possibilities of a case of figs! Yum!!

Great meal plan… one I have almost everything for already this week! And figs. *sigh* Ever since I discovered them, I can’t get enough!

I think altering the meal plan to have selfish bars every day sounds fun. 🙂

I have only discovered figs in the past year, so I have no “favorites” to share. I have a hard time even finding them in my area, but I do try! They are delicious!
Krystal Ray says
I would love to just see what a plain, raw fig tastes like…then a million other recipes come to mind.
Karen says
I’ve always dreamed of having a fig tree! My family would be so happy with fresh ones, stuffed with blue cheese.
Rie says
Can’t wait to make the fig jam. Love it on a cracker with cheese!!

I wish we could get fresh figs here, I’ve only found them once in our stores and when I got them home they were terrible. And half of them were moldy, so I returned them. But I’d love to try something Spanish, a tapas dish maybe. OOOOH, and make fig jam! And just eat one plain!
Owen Brenner says
i’m a newbie to figs, having just recently discovered how delicious they are, but I love them and cant wait to start cooking with them!!
T Tom says
I’m able to get figs for about eight days a year (much to my chagrin); my favorite use is scarfing them straight and using the survivors diced up in chai tea flavored muffins.
