‘Tis the season to party hop! Whether you’re going to black-tie affairs or hanging out at a friend’s house, it’s undoubtedly the most wonderful time of the year for parties! While I do enjoy getting seriously dolled up about once a year, the most memorable parties I’ve ever been to have been the ones where we visit various friends’ and family members’ homes, eat a lot of food, play a lot of music, and talk ’til we drop. We are party people, people, but the parties we like are chill. We are talking low-key, high-fun to-dos. Everyone shows up sporting their happiest faces and comfiest festive-wear. If your pants aren’t stretchy, you are doing parties wrong, friends. Being casual doesn’t mean being a slob, though… It simply means you’re in clothing that makes you feel cozy! Do you feel like a million bucks? If you do, you’ll look like it! Find your perfect fit and flaunt it!
One of my favourite looks is a simple seamed legging in black with a blousy top, cute booties, and a pair of statement earrings. This can stand as is for a casual party or get dressed up a bit with a scarf or jacket. The neutral colour scheme of the outfit lets the jewelry do the talking.
Or if you’re feeling fancier, you can keep the booties and swap in an adorable print dress and red, 3/4 sleeve cardigan. This makes me feel all merry and bright and is a nice choice for most neighborhood shindigs.
Of all the parties on the horizon, the one I’m most looking forward to this year is the Christmas Barre-ty at the studio where I take BarreFit. We will work our buns off to Christmas music and then celebrate our fitness progress for the year with a bunch of tasty treats. Clearly, you don’t wear booties and dresses to a Barre-ty, so I’ll be sweating it out in something like this!
All of those looks above came from JCPenney, where they specialize in helping you find YOUR perfect fit for the holidays and the rest of the year. You can check out the JCPenney holiday lookbooks here.

These outfits are all from JC Pennys?!?! Really?!? I had no idea they had such cute stuff!!! My MIL is OBSESSED with JCPenny photo shoots for the grandkids and I dread them, so now I will have something to look forward to after the photos are taken! 😉

I love to give Christmas colored scarves that I knit to the my children’s teachers. We give them the first day back after Thanksgiving. I have one thing off my plate and they have a month to wear them. 🙂

I definitely have more fun giving than receiving! My children and I are doing the Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK’d) this year and having a blast!

Great outfits….comfy for holiday parties are the only way to go!!!

I love giving. The hardest part is when I find the perfect gift and have to wait to give it. The next difficult thing is remembering where I’ve hidden gifts or that I have already gotten the gift.

I love to receive, but it isn’t nearly as fun as giving!!! “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” So true!
I’m off to check out that peasant blouse and give myself a little something….hehehehee

There is something truly amazing about giving, it just puts things in perspective for me. I have benefited from someone giving to me, in my past. I must say it truly blesses you, when you get to that point in your life where you are able to give. Just between you, and them. Thanks for your ideas. Ps truly liking the blousy top!

I love that peasant blouse!

I am definitely a giver ! I have to comment on the leggings ( Excursion) brand that JC Penny’s carries shown above . They are excellent quality , wash up great , don’t fade , true to size and keep their shape . I have the yoga style’s and love them ! Truly I have about 8 pairs that are 3-4 years old and they look practically new , no joking . I received a pair of ( Under Armor ) work out yoga pants ( pricie ) last year from my daughter and they have not held up as well as my ( Excursions ) . Rebecca , thank you for the chance to perhaps win a gift card from JC Penny’s …..Merry Christmas!

both stress me out, to be honest! but on that rare occasion that you get someone something that they really like, giving is the best.

So cute! The best kind of pieces to have are definitely the versatile ones that can turn into any kind of occasion outfit. Thanks for the opportunity!

I much prefer giving to receiving. I feel guilty when people spend money on me, but love to surprise people!

Definitely giving! Always fun buying for my kids.
Jackie says
I’m a giver, for sure, spending hours on dreaming up the perfect surprises for my kids; this year my present to myself is buying into the fitness challenge my school is running for employees–could sure use some new workout wear!

Love those booties!

Blousy top, check, skinny pants (with stretch), check. Now I just need some fun statement jewelry and scarves. JC Penney has long been a statement jewelry stop for me, so I would love this gift card. I would be able to get scarves and a piece of jewelry for myself and my sisters. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
