‘Tis the season to party hop! Whether you’re going to black-tie affairs or hanging out at a friend’s house, it’s undoubtedly the most wonderful time of the year for parties! While I do enjoy getting seriously dolled up about once a year, the most memorable parties I’ve ever been to have been the ones where we visit various friends’ and family members’ homes, eat a lot of food, play a lot of music, and talk ’til we drop. We are party people, people, but the parties we like are chill. We are talking low-key, high-fun to-dos. Everyone shows up sporting their happiest faces and comfiest festive-wear. If your pants aren’t stretchy, you are doing parties wrong, friends. Being casual doesn’t mean being a slob, though… It simply means you’re in clothing that makes you feel cozy! Do you feel like a million bucks? If you do, you’ll look like it! Find your perfect fit and flaunt it!
One of my favourite looks is a simple seamed legging in black with a blousy top, cute booties, and a pair of statement earrings. This can stand as is for a casual party or get dressed up a bit with a scarf or jacket. The neutral colour scheme of the outfit lets the jewelry do the talking.
Or if you’re feeling fancier, you can keep the booties and swap in an adorable print dress and red, 3/4 sleeve cardigan. This makes me feel all merry and bright and is a nice choice for most neighborhood shindigs.
Of all the parties on the horizon, the one I’m most looking forward to this year is the Christmas Barre-ty at the studio where I take BarreFit. We will work our buns off to Christmas music and then celebrate our fitness progress for the year with a bunch of tasty treats. Clearly, you don’t wear booties and dresses to a Barre-ty, so I’ll be sweating it out in something like this!
All of those looks above came from JCPenney, where they specialize in helping you find YOUR perfect fit for the holidays and the rest of the year. You can check out the JCPenney holiday lookbooks here.

I would have to say giving a gift is better than getting one because the person you’re giving it to may have done a lot for you so they deserve the best! I am also happy when they love the gift I gave them. Maybe they might want to give me a gift back! (:

I think it is definitely more fun to give than receive at Christmas time. Just to see the happiness you can bring to others with something thoughtful is a gift to me.

I really love to give – I only wish I could do it more often.

It’s better to give! It’s so much fun to watch the joy on a loved one’s face when they open a gift.

I’d rather give; we give back by contributing to our church’s giving tree and/or the local pantry.

I like giving over receiving. I try to put thought into gifts because I want people to know how much they mean to me.
