I do love the food part especially reading all the yummy recipes but I know I should make time to think about the meaning of Thanksgiving and all the people who have gone before me to make Thanksgiving possible in this wonderful country.

food of course!! i mean family. definitely family.
Heather says
My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is dessert. Not just because it’s tasty but the people I’ve celebrated with in the past have always been stressed with cooking/feeding/cleaning, and by dessert time, it’s over and everyone relaxes.

I love the preparation. The anticipation, the planning, shopping & then the actual cooking of the feast. My family loves that I do it all & I dont mind one bit!

I love best the time to stop and be grateful for all of the good in my life. It’s not commercialized, it’s not forced, it’s not flashy; it’s just compelling and beautiful.

My favorite thing is having the whole day to spend with the extended family!

I love cooking for my friends and family on Thanksgiving (though I’m not the host this year due to some scheduling conflicts – boo!). Thanks for including me in your roundup!
Tiffany Hawkins says
Our family does not get together on a regular basis. Thanksgiving is the one day a year where we make an effort to do so. One thing I love about Thanksgiving is seeing the family members I have not seen in awhile, catching up with each other all while enjoying some awesome food!
Mami2jcn says
I love just being able to spend time with my family.
Colleen says
What I love most about Thanksgiving? Cooking a fabulous meal for all of my relatives, and spending the day with them for no other reason than to be together, feel grateful for family, and naturally, to eat with abaondon! A few adult beverages as well, of course…and the first cup of eggnog of the holiday season. I guess that’s really more than one thing I love most…but I just love the entire holiday!!!
Kyla says
Um, the food. It’s all about the food. What’s funny, though, is that after all the cooking I do, I probably eat the least out of everyone there. But then I do love the leftovers as well. I can’t wait for Thanksgiving–it’s my favorite holiday of the year!
Clare says
The thing I love most about Thanksgiving is the time with the people I love. What better way to spend time with them while cooking, eating, talking about cooking, watching football and just being together. I love to spend my day cooking my contributions to the meal at my house with my husband and dogs and then heading out to one of my siblings’ houses to see everybody and eat. I talk to all of my sisters and most of my brothers (via phone or e-mail) 4 or 5 times a week, but to be able to reach out and touch them makes all the difference. For years my oldest sister has collected from everybody a list of things we are thankful for and then she compiles them in a master list which she reads before our blessing. I usually cry through the reading because of all the touching things we are thankful for, but it’s a good cry. Happy Thanksgiving Rebecca and your wonderful family!
